DMCA & Copyright Policy

How CanadTV handles copyright notices, counter-notifications and repeat infringement.

Last updated: 1 January 2026

CanadTV respects the intellectual property rights of creators and rights holders. We comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and the equivalent copyright legislation applicable in Canada. This policy sets out our procedure for handling infringement claims.

1. Our content licensing position

CanadTV operates as a lawful reseller of IPTV subscription services and does not host, store or originate the content delivered through the Service. All channels and video-on-demand content are sourced from licensed content providers and distributors. We are committed to ensuring our operations respect applicable copyright law.

2. Reporting copyright infringement

If you are a copyright owner or authorised agent and believe content accessible through https://canadtv.ca infringes your copyright, you may submit a written takedown notice to our designated agent.

Your notice must include all of the following

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work — a description of the work you claim has been infringed. A representative list is acceptable where multiple works are covered.
  2. Identification of the infringing material — the specific URLs or enough information to locate the material on https://canadtv.ca.
  3. Your contact information — full name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
  4. Good faith statement — that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  5. Accuracy statement — that the information is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act for the copyright owner.
  6. Signature — physical or electronic.

Subject line: DMCA Takedown Notice — canadtv.ca

We acknowledge valid notices within 5 business days and take appropriate action, which may include removing or disabling access to the material and notifying the relevant content provider.

3. Counter-notification

If you believe material was removed or disabled through mistake or misidentification, you may send a written counter-notification to [email protected]. It must include identification of the removed content and its previous location, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith the removal was a mistake or misidentification, your full name, address, telephone number and email address, a statement consenting to the jurisdiction of the courts in Canada and to accept service of process from the original complainant, and your signature.

We forward valid counter-notifications to the original complainant. If no court action is filed within 10 to 14 business days, we may restore the content at our discretion.

4. Repeat infringer policy

CanadTV maintains a strict policy on repeat infringers. Accounts subject to multiple valid infringement notices are reviewed against our terms of service, and we reserve the right to terminate subscriptions of users determined to be repeat infringers. Termination for repeat infringement does not entitle the user to a refund under our refund policy.

5. Misuse of the process

Filing a false takedown notice is a serious legal matter. Under the DMCA at 17 U.S.C. § 512(f) and equivalent laws, anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing may be liable for damages, including costs and legal fees.

6. Contact

All copyright correspondence should be directed to [email protected]. Please allow up to 5 business days for a reply. General enquiries belong on the contact page instead.
