CanadTV questions and answers

The twelve things subscribers ask our Ottawa desk most often, answered without marketing padding. If yours is not here, the contact page reaches a person directly.

What exactly is CanadTV and how does it reach my television?

CanadTV is a subscription IPTV service. Television signals travel over your existing internet connection rather than a coaxial cable or a satellite dish, and the IBO Player app turns them back into a normal channel grid on your screen. Nothing is installed in your walls and no technician visit is required.

How quickly is my account activated after I pay?

Orders are activated by hand and checked before the credentials go out. During opening hours that usually means under fifteen minutes; overnight orders are processed first thing the next morning. You receive a server address, a username and a password on WhatsApp.

How many devices can watch at the same time?

One. Each CanadTV subscription unlocks one screen at any given moment, and that restriction is precisely what lets us hold per-account bandwidth generously high. You can move that authorisation between a television, a phone and a laptop as often as you like, just not simultaneously.

Which application do I need, and does it cost extra?

IBO Player, and nothing else. It is the only app we support, which means our desk troubleshoots against one known interface instead of guessing. IBO Player charges a small one-time licence of its own on some platforms; that fee goes to its developer, not to us. The full walkthrough is in our IBO Player guide.

What internet speed do I actually need?

A stable 12 Mbps handles HD comfortably. FHD wants around 20 Mbps and native 4K is happiest above 35 Mbps. Consistency matters more than headline speed: a dependable 15 Mbps link beats a 200 Mbps service that buckles every evening. Our adaptive ladder drops quality rather than dropping the stream.

Is there a programme guide and can I rewind something I missed?

Yes to both. Full EPG data loads automatically without you hunting for an XMLTV address, and seven-day catch-up is available on the major Canadian and American networks. Scroll back in the guide and start the programme from its beginning.

Do the plans renew automatically and charge my card?

Never. When a term reaches its end you are asked whether you want to continue. Nothing is taken from a stored card, because we do not store cards at all — the payment processor handles that and we only see a confirmation token.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Visa and Mastercard, Interac e-Transfer, and Bitcoin or USDT. Cryptocurrency payments earn extra days added to the term rather than a change to the headline price. Business subscribers can request an invoice.

What happens if a channel freezes or goes dark?

Message the support desk with the channel name and roughly what time it happened. Mirrored ingest points mean most upstream failures switch over in under four seconds on their own; when one does not, we reroute manually. Anything dark for more than seven days is pruned from the lineup entirely.

Can I take my subscription to a cottage or another province?

Yes. Credentials are not tied to a street address or an internet provider. They work anywhere with a workable connection, which is why subscribers use them at cottages in the Gatineau, condos in Vancouver and hotel rooms in Halifax.

Is a refund possible if the service does not suit me?

Refunds after activation are limited to verified cases — a confirmed outage running past 72 consecutive hours, or a double charge. That is precisely why the CA$10.99 intro month exists: it is the low-cost way to find out whether the service works on your connection before committing to a longer term. Full detail sits on the refund policy page.

Can I sell CanadTV subscriptions to my own customers?

Yes. The reseller programme opens the same infrastructure with wholesale credit pricing, your own pricing control and a panel for issuing lines. Requirements and credit tiers are described on the reseller page.

Answered everything?

The CA$10.99 intro month is the shortest route from reading about a service to watching it. Full access, one device, nothing renewing on its own.
